I was given a reed
like a measuring rod
and was told,
"Go and measure the temple
of God and the altar,
and count the worshipers there.
Revelation 11:1
“We’ve been there.”
A Faith Based
Peer Counseling
by men for men. |
Services offered by the Adam Center |
|
It is with honor and great humility that there are services offered by volunteer peer counselors to help other men gain the same knowledge and wisdom gained through peer to peer counseling, group studies and library resources at the Adam Centers.
Many of the counselors have come from backgrounds simular to those that come to the Adam Center for counseling. This allows the counselor to know, feel and help work through these life issues that our patrons come to us with. We turn as many stones over in ones life as they want us too, in order to enable them to carry on with life as their creator designed them too and have lasting hope in that design.

James 1:2-5
|
|
Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him.

Psalm 31:7-8 |
|
I will be glad and rejoice in your love, for you saw my affliction and knew the anguish of my soul. You have not handed me over to the enemy but have set my feet in a spacious place.

Adam Centers Lending Library and other resources:
The lending library is one of the special features of the Adam Center. Our volunteers and clients may borrow a book to work on together in session or for self-help. Often a client wishes to read or do pages of a workbook around the reason he came in for help. Sometimes a peer counselor desires tools to assist him in caring for his clients. Using these resources deepens the education and growth for each person.
-
Policies for using the lending library:
Complete a registration form in the lending library notebook.
We request a $15.00 deposit to cover some of the cost of replacing a book or tape if it is not returned. This can be refunded at any time as long as the borrowed resource has been returned.
-
Resource notebooks have been assembled with current organizations in greater Cincinnati who assist with certain concerns. This is available for the volunteers and clients needing to connect on topics beyond the scope of the Adam Center.
- Collection of articles reside in the files for current information on a range of topics. (TBA)
